Specifically, I’m playing with Daddy Pig and my new pig family camper van, which (curiously!) I found underneath a tree...
Maybe cousin Tommy knows how to find them?
Washington DC, Connecticut, and NYC here we come...
A full day of salmon slides and sand road building has me extra tired!
From the shore to the depths, my throws rock the best.
Turkey pianos taste as good as they sound.
It is the most fun I have ever had, ever.
As an artist, I’m currently in my monochromatic phase.
“I want dinner at Din Tai Fung and a red cake with red icing.” Check.
“Daddy, this playground is the best because it has leaves and spinny things.”
Now I’ve got to prowl the neighborhood for candy…
And I’m the only one with a map to this maze, so you’d better follow me!
Farms and pumpkin patches are fun, but bouncing is always better.
I just went to my preschool’s fall festival and now I’m climbing this colorful tree.
And I won’t hit the ground...
Sparkly red face training, that is.
Ferris wheels and hot dogs and face painting, oh my!
The boards go zig zag and then go zag zig.
Roped in to the phone, of course. (You didn't think I was roped in to... ropes, did you?)
I love bikes and bike trails and bridges!
I don’t know why I’m ascending but I assume it’s so I can get muddier.
Ferries are the best place to run around endlessly. Daddy, follow me!
Butchart gardening is like regular gardening but more better.
I just finished the Young Athletes course at the 2018 Special Olympics!
Come hither, my bubble minions!
I visited the huge new Apple Store near home to identify all the surfaces, trees, waterfalls, ramps, bannisters, and other key features designed for playing.
I'm going to pick the goodest berries. Mommy and Daddy are going to pick the next goodest.
Preschool is over which means Summer fun is here!
(I’m giving them, too!)
I've got bare feet, a bucket, sand, and sun. What more could I ask for?
There's nothing quite like having our bunnies hop and smell the flowers.
I theorize / that at the Seattle Spheres it's quite wise / to do somersaults under blue skies.
Watch my dive as the city behind me builds up and thrives.
I love falling blossoms and carrying an umbrella in the rain!
Apparently the Easter Bunny also likes blowing lots and lots of bubbles.
Well, anyway, my basket is full of eggs and soon my belly will be full from their chocolate.
Big bunnies are alarming but their treats are worth the risk.
It's time for a cherry blossom blast off!
These days, I'm reading words... surprisingly many of them.
Everyone keeps shouting about giving teachers raisins.
"I'm working just like Daddy."
I'm also getting a cut of these amazing toys at the barbershop.
Perhaps I could be a crocus in a hidden garden...
Skating is the best and most fun ever and I want to do it again!
You say you're a ChapStick master but your ChapStick skills are weak.
Goosing around is better than goosing above, below, or to the side of.
In a log on my blog? This situation has no analogue!
Windswept sounds better than moonstruck to me, because moonstruck sounds like it would hurt.
Soon, this structure will fill my preschool!
Quite to my parents’ surprise...
This window is the perfect height and has a perfect ledge for me to put my toys.
And I'll keep climbing as high as I aspire.
Take note: the one true way to celebrate the new year is to eat far too much smoked salmon in your dining room.
C’mon, Grandma! Everyone needs their presents... now!
This tastes like Dum-Dums and DUM-DUMS ARE THE BEST.
I remember when this Peppa Pig scooter was as big as me...
And because I’m cousining I’m thinking it’s an amazing thing.
Everybody loves jumpig up and down in muddy puddles.
Yeah, you know me: I love my numbers but most of all thr33!
It's snowing in Seattle and that is shocking!
So far everyone has given me candy and no one has given me dumplings.
How many scotches could a hop scotch hop if a hop scotch could scotch hops?
But mostly I’m thinking about how much i need an apple, now.
I’m playing Monument Valley with Legos. Now, where’s the next button?
(My parents have always suspected this.)
I was making a lunch-time stink eye but the moment I saw the camera I couldn't help myself.
According to my hat, I'm going to take today "above and beyond".
In a surprise twist, not one but two families who live in our old Seattle apartment building visited Jackson for the eclipse.
I love this playground in Jackson, Wyoming, and I love it when cousin Andy swings me!
Coonskin caps are a great way to cap a long day at Yellowstone!
I'm not sure about these geyser things, but by tomorrow I'll probably come around.
We're getting close to Yellowstone. A drive like this really racks up the wiggles.
This waterfall has so many parts. It may take many moons to unravel its mysteries.
Apparently, I'm for any pair of Warby Parkers that are chunky and colorful.
Sure, the view from this ferry is breathtaking, but the benches are where the fun is at.
It's different, somehow, than Alaskan cruise bubbling.
No pictures please. This 4th of July fire truck is TOP SECRET.
And now you know I know Juneau.
It's raining outside our house so I can only stop and look but I promise to smell them soon, too.
Sure, the TV room is completely unfurnished but that just makes it better to roll around in.
I'm also practicing improving my physiognomy.
It's my last day of preschool and I'm rocking the rock.
Soon I'll need to investigate what this "cannonball" thing is all about.
I have empirically determined that Mobile, Alabama is a great town in which to run around like a silly goose.
They call it the "forgotten coast" but an Ellie never forgets.
They're as playful as me!
This is a cool mural we found at the edge of the Marigny and Bywater.
This is my first time in New Orleans so I don't know for sure but I think this is proper party attire.
This slide is particularly static.
And it feels good.
I wonder where these leaves will float to if I drop them in...
Into my Lego box, that is. I fit perfectly; do not contradict me.
But only for posterity. Let me know when I can continue my hike.
It's (another) most wonderful time of the year.
I'm also working on the cover photo for my next baby band album.
"Ellie's going to lay on the pillows and pretend to be mommy."
Or maybe I'm being a secret playground agent?
Although I don't know if you're allowed to say "rock out" when you're listening to electronica.
And my expression should clearly tell you what I think of it!
Not sure what the white stuff on the ground is, but let's try this...
I was particularly tempted to touch this one.
Portland is a great place for en-flanneled hipsters to walk in the woods.
Thank goodness we're in Portland, where the chai is small batch and artisanal.
For the moment, anyway. It's hard for me to resist the camera's button-filled allure.
This one's easy compared to the SR-71A Blackbird I was flying in just moments ago.
Inside this ring I have real ultimate power!
Also, attempting to acquire all the necklaces.
Hold it like this. No this. Now swing.
Ellie got presents! Play with pots and pans! Play with Peppa!
It's a holly jolly light show...
Now what we need is, like, a few dozen boxes of tinsel.
The weather outside is frightful, which means less wait time for the swings.
Beam me up, Scotty!
It's not cold very often so, when it is, it's only logical to play outside.
"Ellie do it all by herself."
Like you, I am also thankful for small glasses.
They're one of the best things to be about to eat.
That's the Elliott Bay, by the way, not the one with watermelons.
Also, I'm a fiend for steamed buns.
Mine keep getting bigger!
Now that Halloween is over, it's time to return from whence I came.
Soon I'm gonna trick-or-treat with my patented candy crab grab.
Sure, there are animals and hay rides and corn mazes nearby, but we all know that puddles are where it's at.
So many pumpkins there for the snatching!
Someone's got to protect this pumpkin patch from 'em.
It's wet and windy out but Daddy and I are prepared!
Or, as I like to say: I'm winging!
Jessie Spano, you're on notice.
No helmets needed for this, no sir.
I hear these toy cars are unsafe at any speed, including zero.
Barnum and Bailey, you're on notice.
Pretty sure there should be a sculpture here, too.
We saw 44 geese at the park. I know because Daddy counted them while I made silly faces.
C'mon Seattle, do your worst. You can't stop these boot toots.
Every day I try to learn a new word or two, and spin in my chair a little faster.
And I'm swimming fiendishly.
And this turtle is helping me do it.
The wheel may be great but the view seems greater!
Come hither, parental units.
Ain't modern technology great?
Now that I've discovered Daddy's watch controls his phone camera, expect many fine photos of the inside of his pocket.
Lighthouse high fives! Yeah!
The fog has lifted but I bet that lighthouse was pretty useful just a few hours ago.
Daddy's sillytøngüe is a pale imitation.
I may be well watered, but these experiments will continue in the name of science!
Watering the beach was all fine and good, but watering myself turns out to be way more fun.
I have empirically determined that running around and watering beaches is a good thing.
All issues of water inequality have been resolved.
There's water over there but not here. I will correct this.
Right now I'm researching the stairs.
Just making sure it's good enough for me.
Now pardon me while I climb up that mast.
It's Seattle tradition to dress nice for mountain weddings.
I had to get extra close to be sure, but nope: they're not roses.
Although, when you think about it, everything is strange... so I guess this is normal?
Opening day was little while ago but with Daddy away for the week, I thought a throwback photo would be fun.
I'm also working with friends on the cover art for our upcoming baby grunge rock album.
Well don't just stand there! That's a volcano! RUN!
It's a comfy place to while away the hours.
Warren G. in da haus, yo.
The world is so vast...
I used to think the Freemasons were part of a secret world order ruthlessly bent on dominating global government and immanentizing the eschaton... but it turns out they mostly just hand out balloons at street fairs.
Well not literally still out to the ballgame, but virtually. You understand.
It's my first game. Pretty sure this means I get to throw the first pitch?
I'm 18 and I'll eat ice cream if I wanna...
Just in case you need more proof that I'm growing up in Seattle.
Hello Kitty also says hello to Seattle.
When it's this sunny in Seattle, even Mommy and Daddy are shadows too.
I keep hearing those words and thinking they must be mistaken?
And, obviously, contemplating the many ways in which "Revolution 9" calls to mind the earlier works of Stockhausen.
Also, my birth was the birth of the cool.
I don't know what that means but picking things up is fun so it should work out.
They call this part of campus "Red Square" so I think Putin is in charge although I'm not fully versed in my world leaders, yet.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, you're on notice.
I'm also still verbing words.
Is that a ferry or a ferry boat?
Maybe next time I'll get to climb up Gasworks?
If you visit me in Seattle in the springtime, I'll pick some for you, too!
Steph Curry, you're on notice.
I'm one year old and I'll verbify any word I want!
It's a very strenuous activity.
It's pretty roomy in here.
I'm a big girl now. But remember when I wasn't?
Ain't no party like a cherry blossom party 'cause a cherry blossom party don't stop.
I even walked directly into one of the academic buildings. Why? Because education is a good idea!
Although I'm still definitely better looking than they are.
(Which is really rather low.)
It's super fancy, and I deserve super fancy now that I'm a big 16 months old!
I'm getting a little alarmed here. Surely the quarter pound of smoked salmon I just ate isn't all we have? Right? Right?
One year later and my baby party friends are having just as much fun as ever!
Still on target for Tokyo 2032, I think.
So much to see... yeah, but what's that?
This "sun" thing seems like a good idea. They should make more of it.
Get it? BEAR? I'm so clever.
I don't know what "that" is, but look at me. I'm cool.
What wonders hide inside? Soon they will hide on the floor instead.
Swinging: also my new jam.
Slides are my new jam.
Today, we are all Americans.
Hello, Hello Kitty. Hello!
When we do what we do we give heads the bops.
Although, wait, is that baby dressed just like me?
And also, all his coffee punch cards.
There's so much mischief to make when Mommy and Daddy rearrange things.
They say it's turtles all the way down but it's turtles on the surface, too.
And I ain't no turkey slider neither.
I'm not a naked bucket head, mind you, but that's another story.
Shhh! No interruptions, please.
I'm a big believer in total control on the way up and total chaos on the way down.
What do you think?
Here I am six flights up.
I like Seattle sand and winter sun.
Look a light a light a light another a...
No breakfast is complete without face plate smushing.
2016 is gonna start with a wicked backbeat.
Sun. Water. City. Worth a little clap clap clap.
Seattle's wintry climate is no match for me!
Merry Christmas to all, and to all who gave me an awesome present like this, a good night.
Mommy and Daddy, your doom is sealed!
Hanging out is the best.
We're performing a piece by Brahms for one piano, eight baby hands.
Knowing my mommy and daddy, what did you expect?!
These are the best clothes to have on my head.
Three hour time changes are tricky!
They keep paging someone named "John McClane" here. Huh.
That's my plane right there. Can't wait to earn my wings!
The new Chipotle by my house just opened and, naturally, I couldn't wait to try some carnitas! (You can see my excitement.)
Mommy and Daddy explained that this is a present you're supposed to drink from, but I don't really see a distinction.
My parents once told me that I'm a gift, so here goes...
I'm not sure why I'm doing this, or how to do it, but I know I want my presents.
Nothing moves me more than time.
CUPCAKE SUGAR!!!
Let's party!
We interrupt your regularly scheduled blog to share this important announcement. Party!
PS: here's Ellie's birthday wishlist.
I eat spinach with my arms unfurled / It gets over my clothes / (and sometimes my nose) / I'm Popeye the Sailor Girl!
Wonder what's in that cooler over there...
Stackety stack... don't stack back.
For some reason daddy likes to make silly faces when I look at flowers.
You can't expect me to take every photo shoot every month seriously, can you?
Ding-dong. Hark! now I hear them — Ding-dong, bell.
The woods are just trees; the trees are just wood.
Traditionally, that's when Germans drink lots of milk and eat lots of blue foam letters.
It's big and tree-ful and maybe a little overwhelming.
I have empirically determined that the best thing about cabins on islands is snuggling.
And cabins! And trees! And water! And mountains! And Mommy!
My parents keep calling it Canada but I don't know what that means and, anyhow, the toys seem the same.
It's one louder.
My new special talent is pointing at literally everything, all day long, to ask what it is.
Mommy and Daddy keep telling me it's actually a short wedding but it's the longest I've ever had to endure, ever ever.
Wait, it lasts a while and it's not about me?
I can't wait to get married at it?
I've never quite taken sucking it all that seriously, though.
There is to be no funny business when photos are taken on this couch. NONE.
I have now learned that a "macchiato" is a delicious concoction of milk foam mixed with more milk foam.
Mommy and Daddy took me to a fancy restaurant where I was on my best halibut-eating behavior.
That's an age that'll make you sit up and take notice!
You've got to be on the lookout for hedge monsters and bridge trolls around these parts.
After consideration, I have decided to allow grandmas on my blog. Please remember, though, that it is MY BLOG NOT THEIRS.
Sorry for the long absence from my blog. I was busy talking to Cookie Monster.
Proposal Rock is extra silly.
Wait, huh? What is this thing you stuck on me, again?
Onward, Daddy. Onward!
Why should I lie down -- even for a moment -- when trying to grab the camera is far more fun?
(You read that right.)
I like it very aggressively!
I know exactly what to do when Mommy and Daddy are taking photos.
...see what I mean?
Mommy's reactions when I unexpectedly stand up are particularly fun...
The more absurd my position, the more sound my sleep.
And, anyway, what are these things that say "Harry Potter"?
Although daddy is a worthy competitor.
Never forget, friends: I am the baby party.
Daddy explained that BBQ is serious business.
Watch out: pretty soon, I'll stay that way.
There's no telling the places I'll go!
I'm eating lots of solids, sitting up, making ba-ba-ba and muh-muh-muh sounds, and even pulling myself up with my hands!
That's two hikes for me so far, both with waterfalls. I hypothesize that 100% of hikes have waterfalls and look forward to further confirmation.
As I'm sure you already know, I'm all about the Fortran.
Watch as I rock System/360 proper, with a soul made of silicon and nerves made of copper.
Here's one from a recent shoot I did with mommy and daddy.
I got daddy's coffee cup but can I get to his coffee fast enough?
The best part of running is when daddy does it for you.
Rumor has it that, on rare occasion, I actually sleep.
I'm really good at the song where you bang your hands repeatedly on the piano.
And I am rockin' it, yall.
(And still eating iPhones!)
Fair warning, dad: after we take the picture, THIS PHONE IS GOING IN MY MOUTH.
I'll ask mommy if this is supposed to be a silly moment or a serious one.
The ultimate power of crawl shall soon be mine...
Despite my attempts at fomenting rebellion, the tyrannical kissing regime retains its power with an iron grip and sloppy, wet lips.
According to the schedule, the silly train just doesn't stop.
Sayonara, six month sticker. See you at seven!
Sometimes I laugh with daddy, but today I'm laughing at him.
Why hello, gentlebabies. Do you like my six month swagger?
She's really extra double A-Ok.
I particularly like trying to put them in my mouth.
We're probably thinking the same thing: WOAH.
She puts flowers in my hair.
Some might call it a "ferryboat" but they are unfamiliar with the proper nomenclature.
I am studying the time honored tradition of knocking things over.
My technique is, perhaps, a touch unorthodox.
It's like Baby Party, only wetter.
Tokyo 2032, here I come!
I admit I don't quite understand what's happening, but they seem fun.
I particularly like it on my forehead, my bib, my toes, my high chair, my...
Although an hour of sun is quite enough, rain again please, thank you very much.
I never know when the cat is going to sneak up behind me!
Do I always have to tell daddy what to toss into the crib?
After twelve grueling weeks, I graduated with honors from the Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS). As you can see, I am now an official PARTY MASTER!
One moment I was in my car seat and the next I was here...
I eat avocados, love the Beatles, babble non-stop, avoid sleep whenever possible, and smile contagiously.
But that's nothing... just wait 'till I'm a teenager.
But, also, a little absurd.
They're almost as good looking as I am!
I'm still more about the hedgehogs, though.
Do tell me more.
More to the point, I think Daddy's attempts at wobbly dubstep bass lines are extra silly.
My parents are going for a walk which means I get to lick my Bjorn again!
I particularly like when they make funny noises.
But you can't see Grandma because this is MY BLOG.
It's a bit cold outside and, frankly, this walk has left me a little confused.
Can I take this hedgehog sticker off now, please?
Some days, the adventures are sooo very adventurous.
I love hedgehogs but am ambivalent about mushrooms.
They haven't said anything back yet but I persist for now.
And here's what I think about Pete Carroll's last call of the game. I'm only three months old and even I know you just feed the beast!
And I admire Pete Carroll's willingness to risk it all at the end of the first half! #gohawks
There's to be no funny business when Mommy and Daddy have the cameras out.
They're all fun but... did I mention my favorite?!
Because this is my new favorite toy. IT. IS. MY. FAVORITE.
This is what I look like when daddy drives.
To forestall any gender confusion, I demanded to be dressed entirely in pink.
But with this smoking jacket, I could probably play one on TV!
And I'm beginning to question the authority of this tyrannical kissing regime.
Nothing makes me happier than a refrigerator full of spicy cucumbers and bean curd. Except maybe bath time.
But for some inscrutable reason the world around me is mighty cold!
Which is good because I really need those baths.
I'm all about that gingerbread action, boss.
When I'm in my car seat, Daddy can't give me a silly comb-over like usual.
I'm not sure but I think my Mommy might be one month old too?
And I have an insatiable thirst for tummy time.
That's why I made Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Cindy take me to the grand opening of the new Starbucks Reserve Roastery And Tasting Room.
And I still got it!
Family, friends, and food are the best!
Shhh, Mom and Dad. Let me offer my opinion first.
It's about time daddy takes me out for a macchiato.
They're grabby.
And I'm unimpressed with your so-called "Bach".
They're squirmy.

It's been a big week; I'm so sleepy.
I arrived on Sunday, November 9, 2014 in good spirits! I have so many exciting things to do.
